Retrospective Theses and Dissertations (1922-2004)

Print theses and dissertations produced and submitted prior to 2004, when electronic submission became a requirement of A&M’s Office of Graduate Studies, were bound and shelved at the University Libraries. The Libraries have digitized these print copies for online use.

In most cases, the authors of A&M theses and dissertations own the copyright to their works. For this reason, many of these works are available as digitized “shelf copies,” and are restricted to users on the Texas A&M campus who are accessing the collection through IP authentication and Texas A&M affiliates who log in to the collection using their NetID and password. Those theses and dissertations whose authors have granted permission for their works to be distributed beyond A&M appear in this collection as open access materials. Additionally, theses and dissertations that have entered the public domain are available open access.

Former students are invited to broaden access to their research and scholarship by lifting the A&M-only restriction on their theses or dissertations. To initiate this process, please consult the Digital Services & Scholarly Communication website.

If any discrepancies exist between the archival print materials of theses and dissertations maintained by the Libraries and the digital versions presented here, the printed materials should be considered the official version of record.
