At recent conference programs, publishers have challenged the value which subscription agents bring to the information chain, while librarians have asserted the indispensability of services which only subscription agents can provide. At last year’s Charleston Conference, the authors met at the conference hotel’s Swamp Fox Restaurant and developed a survey designed to measure library satisfaction with services provided by publishers and by subscription agents. This presentation focuses on responses from librarians working at university libraries who serve as liaisons to both publishers and subscription agents, on questions addressing nine key areas of service satisfaction.
